Controversy of Mr. Hands – Kenneth Pinyan
Kenneth Pinyan gained public attention due to his involvement in the Enumclaw’s Horse Sex Case, and he became known as Mr. Hands.
After moving to Oak Harbor from Washington, Kenneth built a new house with a large farm, including horses, on the Key Peninsula Highway in Gig Harbor. He was in the process of receiving mortgage payments for his property.
During this time, he had a motorcycle accident that altered his ability to experience sensations. Subsequently, he engaged in extreme sexual activities, such as anal sex with a horse, after being introduced to a group of men named Zoos online in the 2000s.
The men would have sex with a horse on the property of Michael Tait, a taxi driver. The property, a 40-acre farm, was located 5 miles northwest of the city of Enumclaw. On a specific night, when the horse was unresponsive to their actions, they moved to the barn at the 444th street farm, where they had engaged in sexual activities before.
During their encounter, Kenneth, Michael Tait, and an unidentified third person took turns being anally penetrated by a stallion horse named Big Dick. They filmed each other’s actions. This prolonged sexual activity resulted in internal injuries for Kenneth. On July 2, 2005, an unknown man dropped him off at the Community Hospital of Enumclaw, where he was already deceased.
The Office of Medical Examinations determined that Kenneth’s death was an accident caused by acute peritonitis.
Kenneth Pinyan obituary: After the Death of Kenneth Pinyan
Following Kenneth’s death and Kenneth Pinyan obituary, authorities used his driver’s license and surveillance camera footage to identify his family and companions. They then went to the farm in the Enumclaw Area where the incident took place.
The specific area was known for Zoophile chat rooms that encouraged people to engage in sexual activities with their livestock. The police conducted a raid and discovered numerous video recordings featuring Kenneth before his death.
Later, it was determined that the horse played no role in Kenneth’s death. The legal authorities aimed to prosecute Kenneth’s companions and charge them with animal abuse. However, the legality of bestiality was an issue in the state of Washington.
Evidence of animal abuse was found in the video footage, but there was no law against human intercourse with a horse. As a result, Michael Tait was charged only with trespassing.
The news of the incident was unpleasant and inhumane, leading most newspaper companies to refrain from reporting it. However, due to the significant number of people involved, The Seattle Times decided to cover the issue.
Sentencing and Charges
Michael Tait was charged with first-degree trespassing, while the unidentified third person faced no charges or sentencing due to lack of visible evidence. Michael made an Alford request by pleading guilty and received a one-year suspended sentence.
Additionally, he was fined $300 and assigned a day of community service. He was also ordered never to return to the farm.
Following this, Michael moved to Maury County, Tennessee, and resided on a farm owned by Kenny Thomas. The farm housed several horses, pigs, goats, and dogs.
On October 13, 2009, Christy D. Morris, a woman associated with Michael and Kenny, was arrested and charged with three counts of animal cruelty. Investigators received an anonymous photo in the mail, which led to the arrests of Michael and Kenny on the same day.
Michael Tait faced three counts of animal cruelty, while Kenny Thomas faced two counts. They later pleaded guilty and received probation in January 2010.
Kenneth Pinyan Documentary: Zoo
The video footage featuring Kenneth engaging in receptive anal intercourse with a horse before his death circulated widely on the internet. This led to him being nicknamed “2 Guys, 1 Horse” and “Mr. Hands.”
“Zoo” is a documentary film released in 2007 that explores the video footage and delves into the life and death of Kenneth Pinyan. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and was one of the winners out of 856 candidates.
As a result of this incident, legislation was passed to prohibit bestiality and the recording of such acts. Presently, engaging in bestiality and recording it is considered a Class C Felony punishable by up to 5 years of imprisonment.
Charles Mudede, the co-writer of the documentary film, commented that the men had trained the horses to penetrate them by using horse breeding pheromones and bending over. He stated that their actions were not driven by a love for horses, but rather a sexual fixation on large penises.
In 2015, Mudede mentioned that the inhabitants of Enumclaw still struggled to accept the news and the case, indicating the profound shock and anger it caused.
