In a tragic incident, 17-year-old Robert Trevor Green of Flora, Illinois, lost his life in a single-vehicle crash on Illinois State Route 127. The accident, which occurred on Locust Creek Bridge, also left another passenger with life-threatening injuries. The cause of death is cited as massive head trauma.

Robert Trevor Car Accident: On Sunday, October 22, 2023, our office was dispatched to the scene of a single vehicle crash on Illinois State Route 127 on the Locust Creek Bridge. Robert Trevor Green, 17, of Flora, Illinois, was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:23 a.m. by Washington County Coroner Mark Styninger.
Green was the restrained driver of a Kia sedan that was traveling north on Route 127 when it left the roadway and proceeded on the west side of the guard rail before becoming airborne when it reached Locust Creek and then struck the north side of the creek embankment.
Green was extricated from the vehicle by the Nashville Fire Department along with another male passenger, who was transported from the scene to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Toxicology samples were obtained by Coroner Styninger. The Illinois State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene as well.
Other agencies at the scene were the Washington County Ambulance Service, Washington County Sheriff’s Department, Nashville Fire Department, Washington County EMA and the Washington County Coroner.
The cause of death appears to be massive head trauma and the manner of death is accidental.
