Zachary Mudd Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Zachary “Zach” Mudd, who left us on September 5, 2023, at the tender age of 28.
Zach was a true Akron native, having spent most of his life in the Uniontown area. He was a proud graduate of Lake High School and a dedicated member of the Mudd Construction team. Zach’s zest for life was evident in everything he did. He had a passion for riding his motorcycle and tinkering with mechanics, but above all, his greatest love was reserved for his children and the cherished moments he shared with his family and friends.
Zach leaves behind a legacy that will forever be etched in our hearts. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, but his memory lives on through his loving parents, Mark and Crissy Mudd; his birth mother, Cara (Jonathan) Murkins; and his beloved children, Noah and Madelyn. He is also survived by his siblings, Eric Steinborn, Natalie, Emily (engaged to Drew), and Josh Mudd, as well as Alannah Murkins. Zach’s extended family and countless friends join us in mourning his loss.
A memorial service to celebrate Zach’s life will be held on Sunday, September 10, at 6 p.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, located at 547 Canton Rd., Akron, Ohio 44312. Pastor Leah Pursley will officiate the service, and visitation will precede the service from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday. A private burial will be held at a later date, arranged at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mudd Family, who are in the process of establishing a fund for Zach’s beloved children. Contributions can be made in care of the funeral home.
